OptiPlex SFF, EliteDesk Mini, ThinkCentre Tiny and similar compact computers can still have good resale value when they contain a reasonably recent processor, sufficient memory and an SSD. Tell us the exact model rather than simply saying "Dell i5" or "HP desktop."
We also buy full-size towers, all-in-one computers and professional workstations. Dell Precision, HP Z-series and Lenovo ThinkStation systems can contain Xeon processors, ECC memory and professional graphics cards, making them substantially different from an ordinary office desktop.
Loose computer components can also be assessed. This includes processors, RAM, SSDs, hard drives, graphics cards, motherboards, power supplies and other reusable components. If you have a box of mixed parts, send a clear photo rather than trying to identify every component individually.
Office computers, home desktops and business equipment

If you are selling several computers, send one specification with the quantity where the machines are identical. For mixed equipment, a spreadsheet or simple list with model numbers and quantities makes the valuation much faster.
Also selling laptops or gaming PCs?

Valuation
How much is my used computer worth?
The value of a used computer is not determined by the brand alone. Two Dell OptiPlex systems can have very different resale values if they are from different generations or have different processors, memory and storage.
For example, an office PC with a recent Intel Core processor, 16GB RAM and an SSD is usually much easier to resell than an older desktop using a low-generation processor and a mechanical hard drive. The physical condition also matters, particularly for all-in-one computers where the display is part of the machine.
Workstations require a different assessment. A Dell Precision, HP Z workstation or Lenovo ThinkStation may look like an ordinary desktop from the outside but contain a Xeon processor, ECC memory, NVIDIA Quadro or RTX professional GPU and additional storage. Include those specifications when requesting a valuation.
Working versus faulty computers
A computer does not necessarily need to be fully working to have value. A system that powers on but has a storage problem, faulty RAM, damaged USB port or other repairable issue can still be assessed.
Computers that do not power on are also considered. If you know that the power supply, motherboard or another component has failed, tell us before collection. If the fault is unknown, we can assess the usable components rather than assuming that the entire computer has no value.

The type of computer is one of the first things we look at. Send a photo of the front and rear of the machine together with the model or service tag whenever possible.

Who can sell
Who can sell used computers to us?
We buy from individuals, companies, offices, schools, IT departments and other organisations that need to clear used desktop computers. You can sell one computer or a complete batch.
Common reasons include replacing old office PCs, upgrading home computers, moving offices, closing a branch, refreshing a computer lab or clearing equipment that has been sitting in storage.
We also consider computers that have already had their drives removed. Businesses often need to retain or securely handle their storage devices for internal security or compliance reasons. If the drives have been removed, simply tell us and we will value the computer without them.
Single computer or large batch
There is no requirement to have a minimum number of desktops for a valuation. For one machine, send the model and a photo. For a batch, provide the model, specification and quantity.
If several machines are identical, you do not need to describe every computer separately. A single specification and quantity is normally enough to begin the assessment.
What to send
What information do we need to value your computer?
The fastest way to get an accurate used computer valuation is to send the exact model number. A message saying "Dell i5 computer" is not enough because Dell has produced many generations of desktop PCs using different processors, form factors and internal components.
If you can access the system, include the CPU, RAM and storage. A photograph of the service tag or model label is often enough for us to identify the base machine and then confirm the important specifications.
If the computer does not boot, simply explain what happens. For example: "powers on but no display", "starts and shuts down", "no power" or "Windows does not load." Do not attempt unnecessary repairs or dismantling before asking for a valuation.
What about monitors, keyboards and accessories?
Monitors can be included in the same collection and are valued separately from the computer. Tell us the screen size, resolution and condition if you have that information.
Keyboards, mice, docking stations, power adapters and other accessories can also be listed, particularly when you are selling office equipment in quantity. Small accessories normally make more sense as part of a larger collection rather than as a separate sale.

Process
How selling a used computer works
Start by sending the computer model, specification and condition. Photos are helpful, especially for the model label, rear ports, screen condition and overall appearance. For multiple machines, send a list with models and quantities.
We review the information and provide a valuation. If you accept the offer, we arrange collection at a suitable location. The computers are checked against the information provided before the transaction is completed.
Collection is available across the UAE, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain. For Dubai collections, our Dubai service is the most direct route.
Business and office computer collections
Larger collections are handled differently from a single desktop. If an office is replacing 20, 50 or more computers, send the asset list or a simple spreadsheet containing model numbers and quantities. This allows similar machines to be grouped together for valuation.
Monitors, keyboards, docks and other IT equipment can be included in the same collection. If you are clearing a complete office rather than only selling computers, use our office IT equipment clearance service.
When a computer is only worth its components
Some machines are simply too old for normal resale. Very old processors, missing memory, damaged motherboards, broken all-in-one screens and heavily incomplete systems may be valued as components rather than complete computers.
That does not automatically mean you should throw them away. If they are being cleared together with newer computers, list them separately and we can assess whether the components or materials have remaining value.
Before selling
How to prepare a computer before collection
If the computer contains personal or company information, make sure your files are backed up before handing the machine over. Businesses should follow their own data-retention and storage-destruction policies before releasing equipment.
If you need to keep the hard drive or SSD, remove it before collection or tell us that the storage will not be included. We can value the desktop without the drive. Keep the drive caddies, brackets and other removable hardware with the chassis where possible.
Do not remove working RAM, processors or other components simply to sell them separately unless you have already discussed the valuation. A complete, working office desktop is often easier to resell than a stripped chassis with a box of loose components.
How to find the exact model
Dell systems usually have a Service Tag or model label. HP computers normally show the product/model information on a label or within the system information. Lenovo ThinkCentre systems have a machine type and model number, while Apple computers can be identified from the model information on the device.
If the computer still boots, Windows System Information, Task Manager or the manufacturer's system utility can help identify the processor, RAM and other hardware. A photograph of the identification label is often the simplest option.
Old office PCs versus gaming computers
Not every tower is an office computer. A desktop with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX card, AMD Radeon gaming GPU or other high-end graphics hardware may have considerably different resale economics. Conversely, a standard OptiPlex, EliteDesk or ThinkCentre with integrated graphics is normally better treated as an office desktop. Providing the exact model helps prevent the wrong valuation category from being applied.
